Top NBA Betting Picks of the Week – January 13th Edition

Toronto Raptors vs Oklahoma City Thunder

The Toronto Raptors will travel west when they go to Oklahoma City and take on the Thunder. The Raptors are in fourth place in the west despite having struggled over this recent stretch of games.

They have dropped three of their last five games without their best player, Pascal Siakam. Oklahoma City has surprised many over the last ten games as they are 7-3 over that time.

They find themselves in the playoff picture despite many thinking this would have been a rebuilding season but Chris Paul’s inspired play has helped them stay competitive.

Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks

The Boston Celtics will take on the Milwaukee Bucks in what is a matchup of two of the Eastern Conference finest teams. The Celtics have dropped three of their last four due to their poor defensive efforts. They allowed the most points of their season in three of those games, which is something they had previously relied on.

That should be challenged in this game as the Bucks have a top tier offense led by Giannis Antetoukoumpo. They have won three straight and by a large margin which is evident by their plus-13 margin of victory. This is a potential Eastern Conference finals showdown and the Bucks should be able to show that they are still the team to beat out East.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Dallas Mavericks

The Portland Trailblazers are on the fringe of the playoff conversation but have the chance to prove themselves against one of the best young teams in the West. Damian Lillard has not had the surrounding support of previous seasons when they were a staple at the top of the conference.

The Interior play of this Trailblazers team has been the Achilles heel as they are near useless at getting defensive stops. Dallas on the other hand is being run by Luka Doncic who has emerged into a real star. They have won two of their last three games but saw a brutal road stretch sink their level in the standings over the past eight games. Look for the Mavericks to defend their home court against Lilllard and the Trailblazers.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Houston Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers have figured out how to play at a high level despite many new faces on the roster this season as they have won their last eight straight games. Lebron James is enjoying a return to prominence while playing off of Anthony Davis. Together they form one of the best duos in the entire NBA. They will put their stellar road record to the test as they have only dropped three games away from the staples center all season.

The Houston Rockets rely on James Harden to provide the lion’s share of the offense, and he leads the league in points per game with 36. They have the highest scoring offense in the league with nearly 120 points in a contest.

Russell Westbrook is his new partner and has taken a good chunk of the season to figure out how to play off of the dominant Harden but appears to be settling into a more comfortable role over the past several weeks. His assist and points totals have risen to 22 and 7 on 8 rebounds.
