Top NBA Betting Picks of the Week – December 9th Edition

Los Angeles Clippers vs Toronto Raptors – Wednesday 12/11

Kawhi Leonard and his new team, the Los Angeles Clippers, will travel to his former stomping grounds in Toronto to take on the Raptors. This is his first return since he was able to secure the first finals victory in franchise history for the raptors. His new team is loaded with depth and top end talent. Kawhi and Paul George are still trying to figure out the best way to play with each other but their unselfishness has really shone through in the fourth quarter as they lead the league in assists during the second halves of games.

What the Raptors lost in one MVP candidate, they are getting back in Pascal Siakam. He is looking at career highs in points, rebounds, and assists as well as his highest shooting percentages of his young career. He has been the catalyst for the Raptors still being among the best in the East. Toronto is 9-2 at home this season while the Clippers are 3-6 on the road. Look for Toronto to keep this close and even have a shot to win at the end.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics – Thursday 12/12

The Rivalry continues as two of the Eastern conferences fiercest competitors take the court for the second time this season. The first time was the season opener in which the 76ers took down the Celtics in Philly by a score of 107-93. Boston will be without Gordon Hayward in this game as he led the Celtics in both points and assists in the first game. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have been playing like potential all stars in his absence as both are averaging personal bests in points and rebounds.

Philly dominated the boards as they outrebounded the C’s 75-54. That will have to change in order for the Celtics to compete. Boston is the smart pick here as they have won three straight and are perfect 9-0 this season at home while Philly struggles to shoot on the road with a 5-8 record.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Miami Heat – Friday 12/13

The other Los Angeles team has become the best team in basketball to start the season. They are 20-3 and are sporting a win differential of +9.6 which is the second best in the NBA. Lebron and Anthony Davis will both be getting MVP votes if they continue the level of play that they are on. Lebron will have a coming home of sorts as he will take his talents to South Beach when they play the Heat.

Miami has more wing shooters than anyone else in the league, which is why they are able to play so well at home. They are a perfect 9-0 on the year at home and will have to see Bam Adebayo play well as he will matchup against AD, a rejuvenated Dwight Howard, and Lebron even. The Lakers are playing too well right now to assume anything other than a win against a team thin at the front court position.
