NBA Betting: Bucks vs. Celtics Analysis
Coming off of the shortest offseason in NBA history, the league is starting off it’s schedule with many high profile matchups. One of the premier matchups will pit two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference against each other, as the Milwaukee Bucks will travel to Boston to take on the Celtics on Wednesday night. Let’s take a closer look at both teams and how they arrive to this Bucks vs Celtics matchup so you can bet against their NBA odds.
NBA Betting Analysis for Bucks vs Celtics
Both of these teams are coming off of an offseason full of change. Milwaukee made one of the biggest acquisitions in the offseason, as they acquired point guard Jrue Holiday from the Pelicans. In that deal, the Bucks lost Eric Bledsoe and George Hill. The Bucks also added some depth off the bench, as they signed Bobby Portis, Torrey Craig, and DJ Augustine.
Boston Looking Different
The Celtics will also see some changes in their 2020-2021 roster. Gordon Hayward left Boston and signed with Charlotte. Boston signed veteran point guard Jeff Teague, who will probably start early in the year due to the injury to Kemba Walker that will sideline him until January. The team also signed Tristan Thompson to help bolster the frontcourt.
Milwaukee Ready to Roll
Milwaukee had the best regular season record last season but was bounced in the conference semifinals by the Miami Heat. The Heat exploited the Bucks weaknesses and eventually moved on to the NBA Finals. The Bucks knew that they had to make changes to the roster to keep star player Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo was slated to become a free agent after this season, but he signed an extension with the Bucks just a few days ago. Giannis will be a Buck for at least the next five years.
The Bucks probable starting lineup will be Holiday, Donte DiVincenzo, all-star forward Khris Middleton, Antetokounmpo, and Brook Lopez. Holiday is more of an offensive threat than Bledsoe was, and he is also a very good defender. Antetokounmpo has worked on his perimeter shooting over the offseason. If he can consistently hit perimeter shots, he’ll be very hard to stop.
Boston will more than likely counter with Teague, Daniel Theis, Marcus Smart, and their two superstars, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Tatum is quickly becoming a superstar in the league. He is capable of putting up points in bunches, and he is a very good isolation player. Brown can score and rebound. He is very athletic, and is dangerous around the rim. Boston’s depth could be one of their weaknesses, as they won’t bring much scoring off of the bench.
This will be a very good matchup between two teams that could be playing for the Eastern Conference championship at the end of the year. The Bucks made some improvements to their team that are geared for making a playoff run. Although losing Hayward and not having Walker to start the season will hurt the Celtics, they still have a good core of players that can compete with any team in the league. This should be a fun one to watch as two of the league’s top young scorers in Tatum and Antetokounmpo will go head-to-head.
