NBA Betting Analysis of the 2018 Western Conference Playoffs

Posted by Derrick Harper on April 12, 2018 in

The Western Conference of the National Basketball Association is loaded. Even the 9th seeded Denver Nuggets could be playing in the postseason, and many would not have a second thought about it. The Western Conference also is looking to crown a new champion, as Golden State has taken it down three straight seasons, but the Warriors are not going to go down without a fight, just as the NBA Odds indicate. Let’s take a look at the NBA Betting preview for the 2018 Western Conference Playoffs.

NBA Betting Analysis of the 2018 Western Conference Playoffs

Minnesota Timberwolves at Houston Rockets

This should be an interesting series. The 8th seeded Minnesota Timberwolves are going to start four really, really good players and a couple fantastic role players. Minnesota is a talented basketball team that was as good as the third seed with the services of Jimmy Butler. Butler missed nearly 20 games, and Minnesota held on to reach the postseason.

Houston is having a historic regular season, and itching to take down Golden State in the Western Conference Finals. The Timberwolves will NOT get swept in this series, but Houston should have enough talent to move on.

Utah Jazz at Oklahoma City Thunder

These two teams are familiar with each other. The Thunder grabbed the home-court advantage on the final day of the regular season, with Utah losing in Portland. Russell Westbrook averaged a triple-double again during the regular season. Utah will have to have a solid defensive plan to keep Westbrook and his friends from controlling this game.

The Jazz is one of the top defensive teams in the league. This could be a series that goes the distance, but home court plays a huge factor.

New Orleans Pelicans at Portland Trail Blazers

The job that Anthony Davis has done with the Pelicans to get to the postseason is quite amazing. Remember this was a team flirting with missing the postseason while DeMarcus Cousins was still playing.

The Blazers should be on your NBA Betting list for the first round of the 2018 Playoffs.

The Pelicans’ guard Jrue Holiday will face quite the test to slow down Damian Lillard and the Portland offense. The Pelicans are going to compete, but winning in Portland will prove to be too tough of a challenge.

San Antonio Spurs at Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are seeking their fourth straight trip to the NBA Finals. This will likely be the toughest route for them. The Spurs are a veteran team, that in the end will likely not pose much of a challenge for the Warriors.

Steph Curry is still questionable on his return. Regardless of that, the Warriors should get by. But, taking on a second round team of Portland will be certainly a challenge.

Best of luck with all your NBA betting action during the playoffs. We are looking forward to the start of the postseason on Saturday, and love these matchups out of the Western Conference. Have fun watching basketball the next 8 weeks!
