Why should you bet on the Raptors?

After losing at home to Houston over the weekend, the Raptors entered their game against the Nets in a sort of haze, and so the first half ended with Brooklyn up by 16. After the intermission, though, the Raptors looked like a different team, winning the second half 62-41 to take the game, with DeMar DeRozan scoring 25 and Kyle Lowry pouring in 23 (with nine helpers). Sometimes all it takes is a bad game or two to wake up a contender, and the Raptors definitely look ready for all comers once again.

Why should you put your money on Atlanta?

Beating the Clippers and then the Jazz on the road makes an impressive collection of wins. The Clippers have been beating everyone since Christmas, and the Jazz have become a pesky team in the West, particularly at home. The Hawks play with a defensive style that pressures the ball, and in the third quarter against Utah, that became a real problem, as what had been a close game turned into an easier night for the Hawks, as the Jazz were only able to muster 15 points, a season low for them in that quarter. The Hawks entered the fourth quarter up by nine points, and they were able to hold on for the win.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

Atlanta will be a much tougher test for Toronto than Brooklyn was, but the momentum that Toronto showed in the second half against the Nets showed me that they have shaken off the loss to Houston. I’m picking the Raptors to win, 108-100.
