NBA 2021 Playoffs Betting: Updated Eastern Conference Series Predictions
With no Eastern Conference playoff games being scheduled for Thursday, June 3rd, we’re going to take a look at the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets series, and we’re also going to make some predictions on which teams that are currently still playing in the East will move on to the Eastern Conference semifinals. With that in mind, let’s get right to it so you can keep placing your bets against their NBA Playoffs odds.
NBA 2021 Eastern Conference Series Betting Analysis
New York Knicks vs Atlanta Hawks
In the New York Knicks vs. Atlanta Hawks series, we think that the Madison Square Garden crowd will help the Knicks to stave off elimination and head back to Atlanta for a Game Six. Tom Thibodeau has had more time to figure out how they can handle the double teams that the Hawks are throwing at Julius Randle. The Knicks will also do a better job of slowing Trae Young down. We still see the Hawks being the better team and winning this series, but it’ll at least take them six games to get it done.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Washington Wizards
The Philadelphia 76ers could be in some trouble. It was announced that Joel Embiid has torn the meniscus in his right knee and won’t be active for Game 5 of the series in which the Sixers are up 3-1. His status going forward is day-to-day. Embiid won’t have surgery at this time but will go through treatment and therapy in order to get him ready to play again.
Not having Embiid will be a huge issue for Philadelphia. Washington hadn’t been able to stop him thus far in the series, and the offense was running through him. Now that Embiid is out, the Sixers will be asking for the offensively challenged Ben Simmons to step up and take on more of a scoring role.
Even though not having Embiid is a huge problem for Philadelphia going forward, the Sixers will still have enough to get by the Washington Wizards and move on to the next round.
Milwaukee Bucks vs Brooklyn Nets
The Milwaukee Bucks against the Brooklyn Nets could be the most competitive playoff series that we see in this year’s playoffs. The Nets at a -190 are the favorites to win this series. Milwaukee is on the board at a +155 to beat the Nets.
The main storyline in this one will be the matchup between the “Big Three” of each team. The Nets trio of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving, against Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday, and Khris Middleton will be “must watch” television. These six players will surely put up a ton of points and will be under a microscope all series long.
Defensively, the Nets will be at a huge disadvantage. They really don’t have anyone other than Durant that matches up well with Antetokounmpo. The Nets have been able to outscore most of their opponents this season, but they haven’t had to face an offense like Milwaukee’s very often. The Nets also struggle on the glass, and that is an area where the Bucks have excelled throughout the season.
This series will be very exciting to watch. Even though the Nets have three of the best players in the world on their roster, we think that the Bucks will beat them in seven games.
