Some changes have been made to what still appears to be a thrilling upcoming fight for UFC Fight Night 165. Brian Ortega has been replaced for the scheduled showdown against Chan Sung Jung, which was set to headline UFC Fight Night 165 in Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea, on on Dec. 21, 2019.

Ortega has been replaced by Frankie Edgar to challenge the Korean Zombie. The fight will still go on as scheduled and fans will still have something to look forward to. Lets take a look at the latest UFC Odds while making some predictions.

UFC Fight Night 165 Odds, Preview & Expert Picks

Frankie Edgar

Edgar has a current record of 23-7-1. The 38 year old stands at 66 inches and weighing in around 145 pounds. His reach extends to 68 inches.

He has a striking accuracy of 40% and a 32% grappling accuracy. His wins are typically lead by decisions at the end of the fights, with 52% of them taking into account.

His last fight against Max Holloway ended in a decision that did not land in his favor. That was back in July so he has had some time to recover and train to get ready on the short notice he was given for this fight.

Chan Sung Jung

The 32 year old Korean Zombie has a current record of 15-5-0. He stands at 67 inches and weighing in at about 145 pounds. He has a reach of 72 inches.

Korean Zombie has a striking accuracy of 40% and a 42% grappling accuracy. 53% of his fights so far have been won by submission.

Jung’s last fight against Moicano in June ended in the first round at around 58 seconds. A quick jab to the jaw of Moicano sent him down and Jung was able to finish him quickly.

Tale Of The Tape

Chan Sung Jung has a slightly longer reach on Frankie Edgar by a few inches. Jung’s legs also reach out to 38.5 inches as where Edgar’s reach out to 37 inches.

The two match up on paper pretty close as far as body types, but the Korean Zombie has a slight advantage on his reach in every category.

Fight Prediction

I look for Edgar to take this fight at a steady pace. He has had an outstanding career taking his time during fights and knowing when to attack. He also has the stamina to last all of the rounds to make it to a decision if needed.

On the other side, Jung is hungry for a knockout after his last win. He is going to try and stand up to Edgar and attack him with heavy strikes. He will eventually try to wear out Edgar with his ground game and attempt to submit him.

I believe that the winner will be Frankie Edgar. He has the better experience in these situations to know when to take advantage of a fight. He better keep it to his pace though, because the Korean Zombie will not be a walk in the park.
