After last weekend’s mega-card, the UFC will tone things down a little bit as they travel to Sacramento, California for UFC Fight Night 155. With 13 fights scheduled, MMA fans will be in for a treat.

This card is highlighted by a women’s bantamweight fight that could lead to a match with Amanda Nunes, along with the return of Urijah Faber. In the main event of the evening, in the women’s bantamweight division, Germaine de Randamie will take on Aspen Ladd.

de Randamie, the former featherweight champion, is the #1 ranked contender in the bantamweight division. With an 8-3 record, she hasn’t lost a fight since 2013. She has wins over Holly Holm and Raquel Pennington to her credit.

Interesting Style

GDR will use her Dutch Muay Thai kickboxing skills and her height and reach advantage. She will try to use her superior striking skills to take Ladd down. de Randamie will need to stay off of the mat, as the last time she spent a majority of the fight in a defensive position, she was dominated by Amanda Nunes.

Aspen Ladd is undefeated in her professional career. She has eight victories, with five coming via knockout. Two of her last three victories have been by knockout. Ladd will look to use her elite grappling skills to take de Randamie to the mat, where she has shown in the past that she is quite uncomfortable. Her five knockouts have been TKO’s from pounding her opponents while on the mat.

If Ladd can get GDR to the mat, she has a very good chance of taking this fight. If she tries to trade blows with de Randamie, the advantage will go to GDR. Both fighters are desperate for a shot at Nunes, so this will be a highly contested bout.

Faber After Time Off

The last time Urijah Faber was seen in the octagon was 2016. The 40-year-old decided to make a comeback and will fight Ricky Simon. The UFC Hall of Famer will enter the bout with a 34-10 career record. 17 of his 34 victories have come via submission. Faber can also use his striking abilities to stifle his opponent as well. He has nine knockout wins during his career. Faber is one of the most athletic UFC fighters to step into the octagon, so he can use numerous methods to win a fight.

Faber’s opponent is Ricky Simon. The 26-year-old is 3-0 in his UFC career. Simon has used grappling skills and striking skills to win his three bouts. He has struggled at times throughout all three of his bouts, so he is susceptible to a takedown or a knockout blow. Simon will be looking to make a name for himself in this bout, and he really has nothing to lose. Although a victory over the 40-year-old Faber would be a career booster, it may not propel him very far up the rankings.

Epic Night

UFC Fight Night 155 probably won’t live up to last weekend’s event, but it will bring some exciting bouts. Between the women’s main event, and the return of Hall of Famer Urijah Faber, MMA fans will be ready for another great night of action.
