Here is the official fight card and MMA Odds for the event, but I’ll go into depth on a select few of the fights at UFC Fight Night 137.

UFC Fight Night 137 Odds & Expert Predictions – September 22nd

  • Neil Magny vs. Alex Oliveira
  • Belal Muhammad vs. Elizeu Zaleski
  • Marina Rodriguez vs. Randa Markos

  • Chase Sherman vs. Augusto Sakai

Thiago “Marreta” Santos vs Eryk Anders

I expect lots of striking in this one. Each fighter is aggressive, yet calculated with their punches and boy, can they pack a punch! Anders is left handed and can really hit. Now, he can kick effectively as well, but most of his offensive prowess lies with his left hand. Santos is effective with multiple attacks from multiple stances, so I’ll give the edge to Santos if not for his versatility, but also his freewheeling punch flying attack style.

Evan Dunham vs Francisco Trinaldo

This fight pits Trinaldo’s enormous strength and heavy strikes against Dunham’s relentless pressure. I love seeing an under the radar fight that materializes into one of the most memorable. This fight has that potential.
Dunham, the younger fighter, must keep free from body blows while also making Trinaldo work. After all, Trinaldo is 40 years old. He packs a ton of power behind his punches and can be an explosive grappler, so if Dunham can wear him down a bit, the edge of speed and stamina go to him, ultimately, in my opinion, landing him the victory.

Luis Henrique da Silva vs Ryan Spann

This fight pits two rather mediocre fighters against each other. They both have been put down early in round one before so look for bloodshed right away. Neither has been able to gain a ton of traction in their careers, but at least this fight is pretty balanced. I’ll take Spann to put Henrique out early. If he cannot do that, Henrique’s stamina and relentlessness will wear down Spann to submission.

Charles Oliveira vs Christos Giagos

This is Oliveira’s hometown and he will look to put on a show. Oliveira has a 2.5-inch reach advantage and has a track record of impressive submissions to his name as well.

Charles Oliveira is one of the favorites to win at UFC Fight Night 137.

These are all a combination that makes for one heck of a nightmare for Christos Giagos. Although, I do like his style, “the Spartan” likely won’t last long with the hometown favorite in this one. I expect a quick choke out or submission from Oliveira.

Chase Sherman vs. Augusto Sakai

Sakai, to this point, has shown flashes of entertaining, powerful finishing. I feel he will showcase that again here. Both fighters have clear downsides. Being so large, each of them is a bit slow and thusly, hittable. Big men, big punches, big leg kicks, and relatively lacking in stamina, means we will likely see a knockout blow. Sherman can fight, but Sakai has shown to be the more talented of the two. I expect he will deal the blow to end the fight.
