Las Vegas will be rocking on Saturday night as the “Notorious” Conor McGregor makes his return to the Octagon after a 2-year absence. This will be his toughest MMA fight to date, as he takes on the 26-0 Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. Let’s check the latest odds while making some predictions.

UFC 229 Betting Preview & Expert Predictions

Lightweight Title Fight

The Russian, known as the Eagle comes in with a 26-0 record. He stands 5’10 and weights 155 lbs. His grappling skills are much better than that of The Notorious.

McGregor, the Irishman will come into the bout with a 21-3 record. It’s been a while since McGregor fought in a big event. His advantage comes in the strikes landed per minutes, as it is more than 1 per minute more.

Will the favored Khabib (-155) try to wrestle McGregor and wear him down, or will he try to stand toe-to-toe with one of MMA’s best strikers? McGregor loves the big stage and will want to put on a show in his return to MMA. Look for Nurmagomedov to try to trade punches with McGregor and end up on the end of a Conor McGregor knockout flurry. McGregor wins by KO.

Tony Ferguson vs. Anthony Pettis

Tony Ferguson takes on Anthony Pettis in the lightweight division. The favored Ferguson and his wild, free-swinging style, will have a battle with the underdog, sneaky-quick Pettis. Ferguson from the United States is 25-3 in his career. He lands nearly 5.10 strikes per minute. His opponent, known as Showtime is 21-7 on the year. His advantage is going to come with the ability to take down in his grappling.

Anthony Pettis comes in as the underdog for UFC 229.

Look for Pettis (+270) to catch Ferguson in a submission maneuver and upset the favored Ferguson.

Ovince Saint Preux vs. Dominick Reyes

MMA veteran Ovince Saint Preux will take on the up-and-coming Dominick Reyes in a light heavyweight division battle. Reyes is 9-0 in his short UFC career with 3 first-round knockouts. The favored Reyes (-225) will look to end this fight quickly. The savvy Saint Preux will be ready, but look for Reyes to end this fight via a 2nd round KO.

We are really looking forward to these fights. As we mentioned to start, this is going to be a great event in Las Vegas. Connor McGregor back fighting is great for the sport, and he is going to not only draw people in the seats but pay-per-view tickets as well. Good luck with all your bets for this event, and enjoy the fights.
