Bellator is back, as the mixed martial arts organization will host it’s 233rd pay-per-view event. This Friday night, Bellator 233 will take place in Thackerville, Oklahoma at the WinStar World Casino. The main event of the evening will be a middleweight battle between John Salter and Costello van Steenis.

John Salter will enter the bout with a 16-4 record. Since entering the Bellator promotion, he has only lost one fight. It’s been almost a year since he last fought, a fight in which he defeated Chidi Njokuani. Salter has a very strong grappling game, so he will be trying to take van Steenis to the mat. Salter really wants to win this fight, so he can get closer to a chance at avenging his lone loss in Bellator which was to middleweight champion Rafael Lovato Jr. Costello van Steenis has a 12-1 career record.

He’s on a roll, as he has won his last six fights in a row. van Steenis will have to make sure that he stays on his feet to keep Salter from using his superior grappling skills. van Steenis will need to use his striking ability to stymie Salter and not allow Salter to come in for a takedown.

Let’s take a look at the latest MMA Odds while making some predictions.

Bellator 233 Odds, Preview & Expert Predictions

King Mo and Kapel

In the co-main event of the evening, Muhammad “King Mo” Lawal will take on Andrew Kapel in a catchweight fight. King Mo comes into this bout with a 21-8 career record. Things haven’t been going so well for him as of late, as he has lost his last three fights. This is Lawal’s last fight, so his illustrious career will be coming to an end.

This fight is King Mo’s to lose, as he should have an advantage over Kapel in striking and grappling. Many are saying that this fight was set up as an easy victory for Lawal’s farewell to Bellator. As for Kapel, he will be making his Bellator debut. At the age of 34, he hasn’t fought much over the last two years.

He’s currently on a four fight winning streak, with his last victory coming via submission almost nine months ago. Kapel will be looking to catch King Mo with a knockout blow. If he’s unable to catch a good shot on Lawal, he could be in for trouble.

Women’s Fight a Good One in Bellator 233

In a women’s featherweight clash, Leslie Smith will take on Arlene Blencowe. Smith enters the fight with a 11-7-1 record. She has spent time in the UFC, and is very experienced. Smith loves to brawl, so she should be a big hit with the fans.

Blencowe is one of the top female fighters in the featherweight division. Her only loss in Bellator is when she fought for the featherweight title. Blencowe is now on a two fight winning streak, and she would love to get her third straight victory over Smith.

Bellator 233 will be a Great Event in Oklahoma

This is a very good Bellator card. The fans in Thackerville, Oklahoma should see a very good night of fighting. This will be the first of three straight weekends of Bellator fights, so this will just get everyone juiced up for more!
