Bellator 217 Odds, Preview & Expert Picks

Bellator 217 will be one for the ages. The event will be one of the very first with a new deal in place to broadcast with Sky Sports. Per the release, numbered events 217 through 220 have been confirmed as events that will be broadcast on Sky Sports. Bellator 217 marks the promotion’s return to Dublin, Ireland and is headlined by SBG Ireland product James Gallagher against Steven Graham. This should be a great event and the headliners are terrific, but the whole card packs quite a punch, really, so let’s take a look at the latest MMA Odds for this one.

Bellator 217 Odds, Preview & Expert Picks

Bellator 217 will take place February 23rd from the 3arena in Dublin, Ireland and will showcase the best in Irish MMA. SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh has called this the biggest event in Irish MMA history. Kavanagh has 10 fighters on the card from his camp, along with other big-name Irish fighters. Over the Summer, Bellator signed a mass of both Irish and European fighters to build their international brand.

Gallagher is a Force

James Gallagher is one of the top prospects in Irish MMA. Gallagher is coming off his first loss at Bellator 204 to Ricky Bandejos by first round KO. James is looking to bounce back against relative unknown on a four-fight winning streak Steven Graham. With a victory, Gallagher could be a fight or two from a bantamweight title shot. James should have a huge advantage in front of the home crowd in Dublin.

Great Matchup

Another fight that I’ll be looking forward to is the one between Peter Queally and Myles Price. This fight has a history to it making it an interesting fight. Queally has been calling Price a rat for his recent training at AKA with Khabib during the UFC 229 camp.Price has responded calling Queally a boring fighter who backed out of several fights with him in the past. Peter Queally is coming off his first finish KO win while fighting in Russia. Myles Price is coming off a decision loss to Belfast fighter Norman Parke at Brave CF 13. Both fighters trained together at SBG Ireland, Price is now training at team Ryano. The heavyweight fight, which was originally scheduled for Bellator 200, has been rebooked for Bellator 217 on Feb. 16 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut. That event will be headlined by Paul Daley vs. Michael “Venom” Page. The fight will mark Cro Cop’s long-awaited Bellator debut. Considered one of the best heavyweights of all time, the 44-year-old Cro Cop (37-11-2, 1 NC) was scheduled to make his promotional debut in May, however, he withdrew from the fight due to an injury,Nelson (23-16) will be looking to snap a two-fight losing streak. He was most recently knocked out in the first round by Sergei Kharitonov. Nelson and Cro Cop’s fight will be a rematch of 2011’s UFC 137; Nelson won by first-round TKO.

Full Night of Fights

Also scheduled for the card is a heavyweight title eliminator between former champion Vitaly Minakov and Cheick Kongo. In addition, Bellator will be holding an event the night before at Mohegan Sun, headlined by Matt Mitrione vs. Kharitonov.
