St. Louis Cardinals at Seattle Mariners
An interleague series that is very intriguing is the Seattle Mariners and the St. Louis Cardinals. Two teams that are battling for wildcard spots out of each of the different leagues. The Cardinals are coming off their trip to Wrigley Field, and will make a stop in Kansas City before coming home. The Friday match-up is fun, with two young pitchers that have great stuff. Carlos Martinez will take on Taijuan Walker. Martinez is 7-5, while Walker comes into the game at 3-6.
On Saturday, Mike Leake will take on Nathan Karns. Karns has been on the winning side of things more often than not, but has a ERA of 4.38. The final game on Sunday pits Jaime Garcia, who is coming off a strong outing against the Cubs, against James Paxton. The Cardinals are one of the top hitting teams in the National League, while the Mariners have done quite well as far as hitting in the American League.
Houston Astros at Kansas City Royals
A re-match of the postseason in the American League from a season ago; will feature the Houston Astros on the road at the Kansas City Royals. Both teams have started to play well as of late, but both are trailing their divisional leader. The Astros are third in the American League West. Houston got within one game of .500 following their win on Monday. For the Royals, they are chasing the Cleveland Indians in the American League Central.
The Houston Astros will send Dallas Keuchel, their ace to the mound on Friday. Keuchel has been brutal for Houston, and is one loss away from 10 on the season. He will face off against Dillon Gee for Kansas City. Saturday’s pitching match-up features Mike Fiers for Houston against Edinson Volquez of the Roya.s Fiers is 5-3, while Volquez starts the game at 7-6. The final game of the series on Sunday features Doug Fister, who has pitched very well, against the big tall righthander Chris Young. Fister is 8-3, while Young is 2-6.
Arizona Diamondbacks at Colorado Rockies
Two teams looking to climb back into the National League West Divisional race will get together for a three game series in Denver. Look for offense to flow in this series, with the mile high, along with some poor starting pitching.
The Arizona Diamondbacks will trot out Archie Bradley, Shelby Miller and Patrick Corbin to the mound, while the Rockies will counter with Tyler Anderson, Jorge De La Rose and Chad Bettis. These two teams
will have a great time with the bat, and it’s our projection this will be the top scoring series of the weekend. Enjoy the action, and if you play Daily Fantasy Baseball, load up on players from this game!
