It’s the final two weeks of the season in Major League Baseball. There are some great series to be played this week, several with playoff implications. We want to take a look at what we consider the best series of the week. Cleveland Indians at Los Angeles Angels

The Cleveland Indians and Los Angeles Angels get together for a three game series out west in Los Angeles. The Cleveland Indians are heading to the postseason, while the Los Angeles Angels are hopeful they can get in, in the final two weeks of the season.

The Cleveland Indians come into Sunday’s game 95-57 on the season. The Indians just finished their 22 game winning streak, and have been red hot the entire second half of the season. Cleveland has been outstanding on the road, winning 48 out of 75 games. The Indians have the best run differential in all of Major League Baseball, at +226.

The Los Angeles Angels started Sunday’s action in second place in the American League West, but just a game behind the Minnesota Twins for the second American League Wildcard. Los Angeles has won 41 out of their 74 games this season when playing at home. The Angels on the season have outscored their opponents by just 11 total runs.

Are the Indians a safe bet for this MLB Series on Tuesday?

The Cleveland Indians have the best earned run average in all of Major League Baseball. The pitching for the Indians has an ERA of 3.36. The starting pitchers are 5th in the league with 78 quality starts. Offensively, Francisco Lindor, Edwin Encarnacion and Jose Ramirez have all been tremendous. Ramirez leads the team with a .314 batting average, while Encarnacion has belted 36 homeruns and drove in 92 runs.

The Los Angeles Angels are winning games with some smoke and mirrors. The Angels are 23rd in the league in runs scored, and 26th in batting average. The pitching has just been average for Los Angeles with a 4.18 earned run average and 58 quality starts on the season. On the offensive end, Albert Pujols is going to reach 100 runs batted in once again. The veteran has 22 homeruns and 96 runs batted in. Mike Trout leads the team with 28 homeruns and holds a .314 batting average.

Pitchers In the Series

The Cleveland Indians are going to send Mike Clevinger, Josh Tomlin and Trevor Bauer to the mound against the Angels. The Indians starting pitchers have leaned on Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco for much of the season, but these three going this series have a combined 35 wins, with Bauer having 16 on the season. The Los Angeles Angels will start Tyler Skaggs on Tuesday, with Ricky Nolasco going on Wednesday. Nolasco holds a 6-14 record on the season. After that, the Angels will send Parker Bridwell, in an effort to move to 9-2 on the season.

Indians Win Series

The Indians and the Angels should be a great series, and it means quite a bit to both teams. Look for both teams to give great effort, with the Indians winning two out of three, and keeping the Angels back a bit for a playoff spot.
