The Major League Baseball season is winding down quickly. Pennant races are in full swing. Take a look at our MLB Betting Picks at MyBookie Sportsbook.

Top MLB Betting Picks of the Week – September 10th

Houston Astros over the Detroit Tigers – September 10th

Good idea to take Justin Verlander any day of the week, but especially against his previous team. He’s an outstanding pitcher with tons of grit, but also a bit of a chip on his shoulder since being cast away (only to win a World Series) by the team he devoted his career too.

Verlander will have a bit of extra motivation to steamroll his previous squad, one who is currently one of the bottom dwellers in the league. Take the Astros big in this one.

Cleveland Indians over the Tampa Bay Rays – September 10th

For similar reasons; Kluber notches another win against the Rays. They are not a bottom dweller, but they also are not a division leader. We think this one will be much closer and may even end up in the hands of the bullpen, but we do like the Indians to beat the Rays in this showdown. Kluber has nasty stuff and usually brings his best stuff to the mound late in the season.

Miami Marlins over the New York Mets – September 11th

Jose Urena takes the mound. Despite his record, he is the Marlins ace this season. He takes on Jason Vargas of the Mets. Both teams are a bit disheveled to this point in the season. After what I expect will be another outing in which the Mets fail to give run support to their ace, Jacob deGrom, think this will be a mostly noncompetitive meeting.

Urena, if he can remain locked into the game, has some nasty stuff and can fan batters in a hurry. Look for mild offensive production from the Marlins, but not much other than a whiff from the Mets.

St. Louis Cardinals over the Pittsburgh Pirates – September 11

The Cardinals have been hot in general the second half of the season, but recently have slowed. Look for them to hand the ball to their ace, Miles Mikolas and see their fortunes change. It will be a tough divisional game, but look for the Cardinals to pull it out at home.

Their young bats and pitching staff have surprised some, and have others wondering if they can hold on long enough to see the finish line. A lot of pressure then falls on Mikolas, but if he can get to a late inning, then hand it off to previous starter, Carlos Martinez, there will be a lot of K’s hanging in that stadium when this thing is over.

Houston Astros over the Detroit Tigers – September 12th

Gerrit Cole takes the mound. That should be just about all we have to say to pin this one down, but for giggles, I’ll continue.

The Astros should be one of your MLB Betting picks of the week.

He faces a winless pitcher from a struggling team. Cole, who pitched in Pittsburgh prior to this season, is used to the colder nights of September and will not flinch at a chance to notch another win as he chases another 15 win season, his first since his breakout 2015 with the Pirates in which he recorded 19 wins.

Philadelphia Phillies over the Washington Nationals – September 12th

Aaron Nola takes the mound against the reeling Nationals. They performed well against the Cubs, which means a lot considering they are the best team in the National league currently, but before they came to town, the Nats had really begun their decline.

It seems like when the Nationals do not have Mad Max on the mound, they are a complete wildcard as to what we will see. Their window for a championship may be closing before our eyes. Take the Phillies.
