Saturday Night MLB Lines Pick & Preview on Kansas City at LA Angels
On Saturday night, the FOX national baseball broadcast features the Kansas City Royals (31-34) visiting the Los Angeles Angels (35-35). The Royals have been clicking lately, winners of five straight and seven of nine, including a 7-2 win in the opener of this series on Thursday night. The Angels had won three of four before falling on Thursday.

Why should you bet on the Royals?
Royals pitcher Jake Junis makes his third start of the season on Saturday after starting the year in the bullpen. His last start, a win over San Diego on Sunday, features six strikeouts in seven innings — but he did give up three home runs (all solo shots). The Royals, after a dreadful start to the season, are picking up some momentum in an American League Central that does not have any strong teams in it to this point. Alex Gordon and Lorenzo Cain are showing their power stroke right now — both of them hit home runs in Thursday’s win. If this momentum keeps going, we could be talking about the Royals and postseason contention.
Why should you put your money on the Angels?
Alex Meyer struggled in his last start, a 4 ⅔-inning effort against the New York Yankees in which he permitted five hits and two runs — and walked five batters. That lack of control will not serve him well against Kansas City either, as they have a patient approach at the plate and make pitchers pay for their mistakes. However, if hitters like Andrelton Simmons (who hit a two-run blast in the Angels’ win over New York on Wednesday night) can get things going against Junis, the Angels have a chance.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
I like how the Angels have refused to fold after seeing Mike Trout go down with a thumb injury, but the Royals come in with more momentum and have the better weapons right now. I predict a 6-4 Kansas City win.
