Major League Baseball moves to the final weekend of the first half of games. There are some great games on tap this weekend, but we have looked over a few for Saturday. We have a trio of games that we want to discuss, and we will do it here in our Saturday’s MLB Betting Picks:

Saturday’s Best MLB Betting Matchups & Expert Picks

Los Angeles Angels vs. Texas Rangers – Saturday

Both teams out of the American League West have no chance to win the division. Both teams out of the American League West could get hot and contend for an American League Wildcard. This game features a matchup that sees Jesse Chavez of the Angels against Tyson Ross of the Rangers. Neither of these pitchers will be in long. The two starters will not combine for more than 10 innings total. That means there are going to be runs, and runs galore. Both offenses have been inconsistent. In this game though, the Rangers offense get after Chavez. Bet on the Rangers over the Angels on Saturday.

New York Mets vs. St. Louis Cardinals – Saturday

The New York Mets are skipping Rafael Montero, since they were able to take Wednesday off due to rain out. Now, they are throwing Zach Wheeler. Wheeler is 3-5 on the season, with an ERA of over 5.00. The Cardinals also have a starting pitcher with an ERA of over 5.00. Adam Wainwright is seeking his 10th win of the season, despite a pretty poor ERA of 5.46. This appears to be a game that will be tight. In the end though, the Cardinals offense gets to the Mets bullpen, and comes away with a home win. Bet the Cardinals on Saturday.

The Mets aren't the favorites against the Cardinals in the MLB betting odds for this Saturday.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Chicago Cubs – Saturday

Two National League Central teams will square off in the middle game of a three game series. Both the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs are chasing the Milwaukee Brewers in the divisional. The Pirates swept the Cubs earlier in the season. Chicago has struggled all season to get traction. They are .500 on the season, while the Pirates are even worse than .500. It’s a solid pitching matchup with Ivan Nova, who has been the best starting pitcher for the Pirates, against Jake Arrieta of the Cubs. Arrieta has struggled through many of his starts, but had a great one recently against the Marlins. The Cubs should win this game at home. Chicago’s offense is too good to keep up the struggles. Bet the Chicago Cubs on Saturday.
