MLB Regular Season Awards – AL MVP

Posted by Derrick Harper on April 8, 2020 in

When Major League Baseball starts back up for the 2020 season, there are plenty of great headlines for the season. But, none will be able to surpass the great race that is going to be in the American League. Not for the pennant, but for the American League Most Valuable Player. It’s going to be a hotly contested race with some excellent players at the top of the list. Let’s take a look at Major League Baseball Regular Season – and start with the American League MVP Betting Odds.

MLB Regular Season Awards – AL MVP

Mike Trout +100

This guy just continues to contribute. This is the favorite to win the MVP until someone literally steals it away from him. Trout has another stud in his lineup with Anthony Rendon coming over. A season ago, Trout hit .291, with 45 homeruns and 104 runs batted in. Amazingly, the outfielder for the Angels finished with a WAR of 8.3. This guy is the real deal. Trout’s odds are far and away to the rest of the crowd.

Aaron Judge +1200

Judge will be 28 years old when the season gets started. A season ago, he had less than 400 at bats, with the Yankees. The injuries beat him a season ago. He is bound and determined to make sure that does not happen this season. Judge still smacked 27 homeruns and drove in 55 runs a season ago. This guy will strike out a ton, but he is going to hit the baseball a long way quite often as well. Judge tied with his teammate for the second best odds in the AL.

Gleyber Torres +1200

The 23 year old broke onto the scene with a .275 batting average in his first two seasons with the Yankees. The Venezuelan native is still figuring out how to adjust at the plate. Look out for this guy, as he sits in a prime spot in one of the most elite lineups in all of Major League Baseball.

Alex Bregman +1600

There is going to be a ton of pressure on the Astros third baseman. The cheating scandal has not gone over well around the league. Bregman loves the pressure though, as he smacked 41 homeruns, and drove in 112 runs a season ago. Bregman also finished with a WAR of over 8 on the season. Look for Bregman to hit early and often in 2020.

Francisco Lindor +1600

What is there not to love about the Indians shortstop? Will he finish the season with the Indians? If they start to falter, he may get moved. A MVP candidate possibly on the move? It’s possible. A season ago, Lindor hit 23 homeruns and drove in 74 runs, while hitting .284. We love his speed as well, as he stole 22 bases a season ago.

Others in Consideration:

  • Shohei Ohtani +1800
  • DJ LeMahieu +2500
  • Matt Chapman +2500
  • Anthony Rendon +3000

Best of luck with all your Major League Baseball betting. There is a look at the regular season awards – with American League MVP. Have a great season!
