San Diego @ Baltimore MLB Odds Analysis

The San Diego Padres open a midweek MLB betting series with the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night. The Orioles sit atop the American League East standings but have a quirk in their schedule as they must head to Texas for a one-game makeup of an earlier rainout before heading back to Baltimore to meet the Padres the next night. The Padres are in fourth place in the National League West.

How To Bet the Padres @ Orioles MLB Odds, TV & Game Info

When: Tuesday, June 21, 2016, 7:05pm Eastern timeWhere: Oriole Park, BaltimoreTV: MASN, FSSDRadio: Orioles and PadresLive Stream: FoxSportsGoPitching Matchup: Luis Perdomo (2-2, 8.79 ERA) (SD) vs Tyler Wilson (3-5, 4.16 ERA) (BAL)MLB Odds: Orioles -190

Why should you bet on the Padres?

It’s not always easy to find good things to write about a pitcher with an 8.79 ERA, but Perdomo did have a decent outing last time out. He went six innings to pick up the win over the Miami Marlins on Wednesday, permitting three runs on six hits and two walks, striking out four. This was just Perdomo’s third start of the year, as he has taken Andrew Cashner’s spot in the Padre rotation. Each of his starts has gotten more solid; against Miami, 58 of his 94 pitches went for strikes. The Marlins are not the doormats they were last year, as they sit in the second National League wild card position as of this writing, so Perdomo could baffle the Orioles, particularly since so few of them have seen him (this being an interleague contest).

Why should you put your money on the Orioles?

Tyler Wilson was down to his last chance in the Baltimore rotation last Thursday, and he responded with a beauty of a game, going eight scoreless innings permitting only three hits against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The Red Sox lead the American League in runs per game, so holding that offense in check was a major achievement. The Orioles held off the Red Sox in that series to keep their lead in the American League East. Wilson will find a much tamer offensive lineup on Tuesday when the Padres come to town.

My Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Orioles to pick up a win in this game against an overmatched offense with a newly rejuvenated Wilson. I’m predicting a 5-1 Baltimore win.
