Milwaukee vs San Francisco MLB Odds Analysis

Posted by Aaron . on June 13, 2016 in

On Tuesday night, the Milwaukee Brewers and the San Francisco Giants tangle in the second game of their midweek series. The Giants (38-26) are in first place in the National League West and have won three of four, including taking two of three from their rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers, over the weekend, including a 2-1 win on Sunday. The Brewers (30-33) are in fourth place in the National League Central and just beat the New York Mets, 5-3, on Sunday. Find the updated MLB betting run lines here.

Why should you bet on Milwaukee?

If the Brewers can somehow get Bumgarner into the shower early, the Giants will likely have a depleted bullpen. On Saturday, the team used nine pitchers in a 10-inning affair against the Dodgers, and they used seven in their game on Sunday. Also, Scooter Gennett, Jonathan Villar, Aaron Hill and Ryan Braun have all homered off Bumgarner during their career. The Giants also haven’t seen much of Brewers’ starter Matt Garza, who comes off the 60-day disabled list to make his first start of the regular season. If Garza has some of his better stuff going and the Brewers can get some wood on the ball, the Brewers could get going.

Why should you put your money on the Giants?

The Giants are sending Madison Bumgarner to the hill, and while his last start led to a no-decision, the Giants still beat the Red Sox, 2-1. He has 99 strikeouts in 86 innings this year, and he has only permitted three or more runs in a start two times this season. While Ryan Braun (.316, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 19 AB) has done serviceably well against Bumgarner, no one else with more than three career at-bats against Bumgarner on the Brewers’ roster has a batting average higher than .250 against him.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

Garza is likely to face a short pitch count from the Brewers, and Bumgarner hasn’t been shelled by anyone this year. I like the Giants to reel off a 6-1 win.
