Los Angeles vs Chicago MLB Odds Analysis

Posted by Aaron . on May 31, 2016 in

On Wednesday night, the Chicago Cubs host the Los Angeles Dodgers in the third game of their midweek series. The Cubs (35-14) are still running away with the National League Central and won the opening game of this series on Monday, 2-0, behind seven shutout innings from their bullpen after Jason Hammel had to leave the game after two innings. The Dodgers (27-25) are in second place in the National League West and have won six of eight, even including Monday’s loss. Find the latest MLB betting odds here.

Why should you bet on Los Angeles?

The Dodgers have been hitting much better in the clutch lately — which is why they have been piling up the wins. Adrian Gonzalez torched Mets closer Jeurys Familia on Sunday night with a two-run single to push the Dodgers to a win. That capped off a series in which the Dodgers took two of three from the Mets in front of sellout crowds at Citi Field. So they’re used to winning in electric environments on the road…which Wrigley will certainly be as well, as hot as the Cubs are now.

Why should you put your money on the Cubs?

Lester had been one of the least consistent starters in the Cubs’ rotation, but he got back on track against Philadelphia his last time out, only permitting six hits in 6 innings to pick up the victory. He was able to spot his fastball more accurately and hit his spots with his curveball. None of the current Dodgers have ever taken Lester deep, and no one with more than six at-bats against Lester is hitting over .235 against him on the Dodgers’ current roster. The Cubs also get to face spot starter Mike Bolsinger, which should leave them with plenty to hit.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like Lester to beat the spot starter Bolsinger, and the Cubs offense has still been humming as of late. I’m predicting a 5-3 Chicago win.
