Chicago vs Milwaukee MLB Odds Preview

Posted by Aaron . on May 16, 2016 in

On Tuesday night, the Chicago Cubs open a 10-game road trip in Milwaukee against their NL Central foes. The Cubs (27-9) are way out in front in the division, while the Brewers (16-22) are in fourth place, 12 games back. The Brewers beat the San Diego Padres, 3-2, on Sunday, while the Cubs fell, 2-1, to Pittsburgh in the finale of their homestand. Find out more about the latest MLB online betting odds here.

Chicago Cubs vs Milwaukee Brewers MLB Odds Preview

When: Tuesday, May 17, 2016, 8:10 Eastern time
Where: Miller Park, Milwaukee
Radio: WTMJ 620 AM Milwaukee
Live Stream:
Pitching Matchup: Kyle Hendricks (2-2, 3.03 ERA) (CHI) vs Chase Anderson (1-5, 6.11 ERA) (MIL)

Why should you bet on Chicago?

The Brewers are sending Chase Anderson to the hill to start this game. Even though he has been a starter for three seasons in the National League, he has never started a game against the Cubs. However, over his last five starts, he has posted a hideous 8.88 ERA. So the Cub offense, which has been raking all season long, should be able to feast on the Brewers’ pitching. The Cubs are second in all of baseball with 214 runs, and I expect them to add generously to that total in this game.

Why should you put your money on the Brewers?

Chris Carter finally emerged from a lengthy slump on Sunday, hitting an RBI double that scored the game-winning run, as well as a mammoth solo shot. He had been stuck in an 0 for 23 malaise when he smashed that 443-foot effort that smacked the scoreboard in dead center field. Jonathan Lecroy also went deep for the Brew Crew. If they can get to Hendricks a bit (although historically they haven’t), and Anderson can cobble together some strong innings, the Brewers have a shot.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like Hendricks and the Cub offense to have a fairly easy day in this one. I’m predicting an 8-2 Chicago victory.
