Why should you bet on Boston?

The Red Sox are seeing Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound for the first time this season, thanks to his recovery from a patella subluxation in the right knee that he suffered near the end of February. Last year, the Orioles did beat Rodriguez twice, but the only Orioles still on the roster who seem to have his number are Caleb Joseph (2-2 lifetime) and Matt Wieters (.400, 1 HR, 2 RBI). Boston also has some momentum after posting their 13th comeback win of the season so far, beating the Blue Jays in 11 innings on Sunday. Clay Buchholz, the former ace who has fallen out of the starting rotation, picked up the win by pitching an inning in relief for the first time since 2008, showing that he may be mentally coming back.

Why should you put your money on the Orioles?

Kevin Gausman has had some tough luck in his starts this year, primarily as the result of poor run support. His last time out, he struck out seven Astros in five innings but still took the loss. The Orioles are excited to see free-agent signee Hyun Soo Kim hit his first major league home run on Sunday, to help the team get past the Indians for their win. The O’s had dropped five of six before that win, so they also have some momentum coming into this series after that comeback win.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

Despite the fact that the Orioles have seen Rodriguez before, I think that he has better stuff than Gausman (who also gave up four runs in that start against Houston), and the Red Sox have been on more of a roll offensively as of late. I’m predicting a 4-2 Boston win.
