The 2018 Breeders Cup Classic will take place on November 3rd at Churchill Downs. This is a grade 1 Weight for Age horse race for 3 years old and older. The distance for this race is 1.25 miles. This race has been around since 1984, with Gun Runner as the defending champion. The total purse for this event is $6M, which raised from 2015. Here’s a look at some of the pre-race betting favorites.

2018 Breeders Cup Classic Betting Preview

As of today, Accelerate, trained by John Sadler is the favorite to win at 3-1. Accelerate is the winner of 3 straight races. Accelerate came away as the winner of the Gold Cup back in Santa Anita in May. The 5-year-old ran back in 2016 at this track and finished third.

Right behind Accelerate are the 2 Bob Baffert horses that are entered in the Classic. McKinzie and West Coast are both at 6-1. West Coast finished second to Accelerate in their last race. These two horses are certainly going to be right in the mix when push comes to shove at the end.

The 2018 Breeders Cup is going to be a great event.

Mendelssohn and Thunder Snow both come in at 10-1. Mind Your Biscuits is a horse that has been coming on strong as of late and could present a challenge to the favorites.

With 19 horses entered as of now, the field is wide open. Any time that there is a Bob Baffert horse in the field, everyone else will be put on notice. This should be a great race, but in the end, we are going to eat the chalk and go with the betting favorite.

The best bet to win the Breeders Cup Classic is Accelerate. At 3/1 odds, you are still getting paid pretty good to win this event. Best of luck with all your betting!
