2018 RSM Classic Betting Preview & Expert Prediction

This week’s stop on the PGA Tour takes us to St. Simon’s Island, Georgia, home of the RSM Classic. The 2018 RSM Classic is hosted by Davis Love III and is being played at the Sea Island Golf Club.

The course is over 7,000 yards long and is a par 70. It has been around since the late 1920’s Kevin Kisner holds the four-day record of 260 back in 215. Tommy Gainey shot lights out a round of 60 back in 2012, which was a 60, and that is the record. Austin Cook is the defending champion for the event. He was the fifth player to win the Classic in his first pro visit.

The field isn’t considered to be very strong, but will still be very competitive. This year’s headlining names include Webb Simpson, Lucas Glover, Jim Furyk, Zach Johnson, Kevin Kisner, and Jason Dufner, just to name a few. Here are some names are interested in according to the latest golf betting odds.

2018 RSM Classic Betting Preview & Expert Prediction

Webb Simpson +900

Webb Simpson is the biggest name in the field. Simpson is coming off of the best season in his career. He had 9 top 10’s and played well at the Ryder Cup. Simpson wants to end the fall on a good note, and be ready to open things up in Hawaii in January.

Cameron Champ +1800

Another name to watch is Cameron Champ. With a win already in Mississippi, he’s looking for his second victory in a month. Last week, he tied for 10th in Mexico. Champ is an up and coming golfer, who’s looking to make a name for himself heading into the new year.

J.J. Spaun +2200

Spaun was runner-up at this event last year, and he finished second last week at the Mayakoba Classic. Spaun does not have a ton of success winning events but has been inside the Top 10 several times in his career.

Kevin Kisner +2800

No golfer has won more money at this event than Kisner. He has also made his home near this course, so he’s very familiar with the layout.

Kevin Kisner is one of the favorites to win the 2018 RSM Classic.

These are some of the best odds you will find for a guy with this much success at the course. This would be a great payout if Kisner could have four great days of golf.

Austin Cook +2800

The defending champion is tied with a pair of other guys for the fifth-best odds to take down the title in the event. Many feel that Austin Cook played out of his mind a season ago. We will find out if that’s the case, or he simply is outstanding at the course. There is a little risk-taking Cook at 28/1, as he has not been able to duplicate it over the past year.

The RSM Classic field is wide open. This is the last event of the fall, so the golfers are looking to head into the new year playing well. When push comes to shove, we are going to go back with the best golfer in the field. That is Webb Simpson. We like Webb Simpson all the time, but in this event, he seems like a great pick. Betting him at +900 seems to be the way to go with this event. Enjoy!
