One of the bigger Counter Strike events going on right now is the DreamHack Masters, a tournament we all have been waiting for to begin. Let’s get right into the upcoming matches and their Counter Strike odds.
Counter Strike DreamHack Masters EU – May 28 matches
Vitality vs Ninjas in Pyjamas
Ninjas in Pyjamas have not long ago benched Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson from the active roster and replaced him with Hampus “hampus” Poser, which marked their first roster change since January. Although it was yet to be officially confirmed, hampus is likely to take over as the team’s new in-game leader. Vitality, on the other side, haven’t made a single roster move since March, when they acquired Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier, however, perhaps they should start thinking about additional roster changes since they’re still playing without a proper IGL.
The last time Vitality and Ninjas in Pyjamas met was back at the ESL One: Road to Rio – Europe, where we saw a three-map thriller that ended with every map going into overtime. Vitality opened the series with a 19-16 OT win on Mirage, suffered a 15-19 OT loss on Overpass, but sealed the deal on Inferno with a 19-17 OT win.
Despite the recent roster change in NiP, we can expect another close bout, meaning another three-series thriller is likely on the cards, as it was the case in the last two meetings between these two sides. Although NiP are in a very solid form, Vitality are in our books still a slightly better team, but since they are without a proper IGL, the French are bound to drop a map. Bet on Over 2.50 Maps.
Prediction: Over 2.50 Maps
Natus Vincere vs ENCE
Natus Vincere were coming into the recent ESL One: Road to RIO – CIS as one of the best teams in the world and were expected to win the whole thing with relative ease. They began their journey with a 2-0 win over Espada, but things soon turned grim for the CIS juggernauts, as they dropped a match against the regional rivals Virtus.pro (0-2). Although NaVi bounced back with a win against pro100, they lost the remaining fixtures against Syman and Hard Legion, thus finished the tournament at the seventh-eighth place.
ENCE, on the other hand, started their RtR campaign with an upset win against Fnatic but followed that up with three straight losses against Heretics, NiP and Complexity. ENCE bounced back by winning three out of the remaining four fixtures against Dignitas, Vitality and Copenhagen Flames while losing only to Astralis. They also won the Elisa Invitational 2020 without any problems against GODSENT, Dignitas and Apeks.
ENCE are coming into the match with a new player Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen and even though they haven’t played a lot of matches with the new acquisition, the Finns are still in a great form, which suggests ENCE have a legitimate chance to cause another upset against the struggling Natus Vincere. Bet on ENCE to win
Prediction: ENCE to win
100 Thieves vs Cloud9
100 Thieves and Cloud9 have last met just a couple of weeks ago during the ESL One: Road to Rio – North America, where 100 Thieves managed a 2-0 upset win with a 16-13 win on Train and 16-12 on Vertigo. Although the results indicate it was a fairly one-sided bout, the reality is that the match was very close. C9 even held a 10-5 half-time lead on the first map, and if they hadn’t choked, we would be looking at a completely different result.
While Cloud9 are not exactly a strong team, they have looked very decent in recent weeks, unlike 100 Thieves, who are clearly dealing with some internal issues, which eventually led to the departure of their coach. Since Cloud9 are in better form and aren’t dealing with any internal issues we have to side with C9 here to avenge their defeat.
Prediction: Cloud9 to win
