The grand finals of Counter Strike BLAST Rising 2020 is upon us, featuring an exciting fixture between Endpoint and the Finnish HAVU, who will duke it out for the lion’s share of €30,000 (~US $32.840) prize pool. Let’s take a closer look at the teams and how they arrive to this matchup so you can place your bets against their Counter Strike odds.

Counter Strike BLAST Rising Finals 2020 – Endpoint vs HAVU

Endpoint topped their BLAST RISING group with five wins over Tricked (twice), Salamander (twice) and ALTERNATE aTTaX, although failed to come out of Group A with a perfect record, as the Brits lost to ALTERNATE aTTaX (13-16) in their reverse fixture. Nonetheless, a 5-1 record is still an impressive feat, which earned Endpoint an invite into the playoffs. In the quarter-finals, Endpoint crushed AVEZ (16-9 and 16-10) and eliminated Nordavind in the semis (19-16 and 16-9).

HAVU entered BLAST Rising 2020 on the heels of an impressive run through FLASHPOINT league, where they pocketed a bronze medal, finishing only behind two significantly stronger teams in MiBR and MAD Lions. Through the group stage of BLAST Rising, HAVU defeated AGO (twice), Nordavind and Giants but, suffered defeats against the latter two, thus finished Group B at the second place with a 4-2 record. Nonetheless, the Finns still qualified for the playoffs, where they defeated Japaleno (16-11 and 16-7) and stomped ALTERNATE aTTaX (16-14 and 16-3) on Thursday.

Endpoint and HAVU last met back in October 2019, during the QIWI Teamplay Season 4, where HAVU came away with a narrow 2-1 win. The match began with HAVU taking the W on Train (16-14) but failed to deliver on Inferno, where Phoenix (the core of Endpoint) struck back and won 16-6. The final map of the series was played on Dust2, where HAVU came away with a commanding 16-9 win to seal the series. Although HAVU looked much stronger overall, we would not put too much emphasis on that match, since Phoenix were still playing with Flatron “juanflatroo” Halimi and Anel “NENO” Ceković, who got replaced with Joey “CRUC1AL” Steusel and Robin “robiin” Sjögren.

Endpoint are entering this bout with an impressive 68% win rate across the past three months and with a five-game winning streak, which they earned by defeating LDLC, Nordavind, (twice) and AVEZ. HAVU, on the other side won 79.3% of their matches across the last three months and are entering the match with three wins out of the last five played. Their less-than-stellar record, however, can be attributed to the fact that HAVU took a break after their podium finishes at FLASHPOINT, so they re-entered the competitive scene a bit ring rusty. Nonetheless, HAVU’s impressive win over ALTERNATE aTTaX has left us certain the Finns are ready to take on their next opponents.

Looking over at the map pool, it appears like Endpoint and HAVU have similar strengths and weaknesses which means we are in for an extremely competitive series. Inferno will be probably banned by HAVU, while Endpoint will try to get rid of Nuke. As for the remaining maps, both sides boast with similar win records, which suggests we are in for a three-map series that can end either way. Bet on the series to go into the distance!
