NASCAR Betting: Daytona 500 Top 3 Favorites
In just two short weeks, the NASCAR Series will start the 2021 season. And there’s no better place to start than at the Daytona International Speedway. The Daytona 500, also known as “The Great American Race”, will run for the 63rd time. The green flag will drop at 2:30 pm ET on Sunday, February 14th.
There are many drivers who can claim to have great NASCAR odds to take home the checkered flag at Daytona. There are 14 drivers who have odds listed at 20-1 or shorter. Let’s take a look at three drivers who we think could earn you some money from your favorite sportsbook.
2021 Daytona 500 Top 3 Drivers to Bet On
Denny Hamlin: 8-1
Hamlin had quite the 2020 season. He won seven races, and had 18 top-5 finishes. Hamlin would love to get off to a great start, just like he did last year and in 2019. The great start would entail winning his third straight Daytona 500. The member of the Joe Gibbs Racing Team has had great success at Daytona, as he’s either won three of the last five races at the Daytona International Speedway.
Hamlin had great success at the superspeedways last season. In the four events held at superspeedways, he finished no lower than fourth. Although betting on the favorite isn’t usually very profitable unless you pony up a lot of money, it’s hard not to want to bet on Hamlin. His success here is undeniable, and coming off of a great season, he’s very capable of continuing on with his winning ways.
Ryan Blaney: 10-1
Although he is among the favorites to win, many may be hesitant to place a lot of stock in Blaney’s odds. He struggled throughout the early portion of the 2020 season, but he came on late and made the playoffs. With only one win last season, he was lucky enough to make NASCAR’s postseason, and he finished just outside of the top 8. Coming off of a second place finish at the 2020 Daytona 500, Blaney will be looking to win this event for the first time. Blaney knows the track well, and this could be the year that he finally makes the jump. Many are predicting big things from him this season, and a win at the Daytona 500 would make for a great start to the 2021 NASCAR season.
Austin Dillon: 25-1
Coming in at 25-1, many experts don’t think that Austin Dillon is much of a threat to take home the checkered flag at the 2021 Daytona 500. With these odds, Dillon could make you some good money. Although he only has one win at Daytona, Dillon has raced fairly well here lately. In his six starts, he has a win and a second place finish to his credit. He has also done well in qualifying. In his last four starts he has finished no farther back in the field than the 12th position. Dillon is a young, up and coming race car driver, and if he can put everything together, this could be the year that he finally breaks through and takes home the checkered flag on the 14th.
