2019 Pocono 400 Betting Preview

Posted by Juan Carlos on May 31, 2019 in

This weekend’s stop in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is Long Pond, Pennsylvania where the 2019 Pocono 400 will be ran at the Pocono Raceway.  Pocono, also known as the “Tricky Triangle” is a 2 ½ mile course with three turns.

The course isn’t your normal NASCAR course. All three of the turns have different banking, and it is very challenging for even the most skilled of drivers. Since it does have such unique qualities, many of the NASCAR drivers look forward to one of their two yearly trips to Pocono.

Some of the past winners of the Pocono 400 include: Jeff Gordon (4 victories), Jimmie Johnson (2), Denny Hamlin (2) and Martin Truex Jr. (2).

Let’s preview some of the odds favorites to win the 2019 Pocono 400:

2019 Pocono 400 Betting Preview

Martin Truex Jr.

Is there a hotter driver right now than Martin Truex Jr.? He has won three out of the last five races. Coming off of last week’s Coca Cola 600 victory, Truex is in prime position to take this weekend’s race. He has won two of the last four races ran at Pocono, and is the Pocono 400 defending champion. He has had as much success as anyone at this track. The only thing going against him is that he has never won back-to-back races in his career in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

Kyle Busch

Busch has also won three times this season. With top 10 finishes in this season’s first 11 races, he’s a contender every time he’s on the track. He has finished in the top 10 in six of the last nine Pocono 400 races.  He’ll be ready to win.

Brad Keselowski

Keselowski, along with Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr., also has three victories this season. Keselowski hasn’t one career victory at Pocono in 2011, but he has seen a lot of top five finishes here. He has finished in the top five of the Pocono 400 in four out of the last five years. Although he’s cooled off from his hot start to the season, he’ll still find his way into the top group.

Kevin Harvick

Even though Harvick hasn’t been in victory lane this season, he’s still had a great start. Harvick has nine top 10 finishes on the 2019 season. He has never won at Pocono, but he’s finished in the top four in his last five appearances. Harvick would love for nothing more than to take the checkered flag on Sunday.

Joey Logano

Logano is currently second in the points standings. He has nine top 10 finishes on the season. He has had success at Pocono in the past as he won the 400 in 2012. In the last seven years, he has finished in the top 10 on five different occasions. Joey Logano will be working hard to get the win.

The Pocono 400 will be fun to watch! With it’s unique setup, there’ll be a ton of action on the course. With some of NASCAR’s biggest names looking to get into victory lane on Sunday, the racing will be fast and furious!

Enjoy the race!
