2018 Singapore GP Betting Preview & Expert Pick

Only 175 kilometers from the equator, the cockpits in this race will easily reach temperatures of over 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The 2018 Singapore GP will take place in the Marina Bay Street Circuit under artificial lighting. The race is one of the most anticipated races of the year, year in and year out. The famous raceway circuit was established back in 1961 and is sometimes referred to as the Orient Year Grand Prix.

It is expected that upwards of 85,000 spectators will watch on as their favorite racers compete in one of the final races of the season. The track is exciting mostly due to its tight corners and shorter straights. It emphasizes braking, cornering, aerodynamics, and technical driving over raw, outright speed. It will be an interesting race from an individual and team perspective as Mercedes and Ferrari look to distance themselves further from Team Red Bull. Here are the betting favored drivers in this one.

2018 Singapore GP Betting Preview & Expert Pick

Lewis Hamilton

Hamilton is the youngest driver to sign with a formula one team, and also currently sits at the top of the points list. He is somewhat of a racing prodigy as he started racing at only 10 years of age and to see him have such successes at the world’s highest stage is nothing short of impressive.

His win in the Italian Grand Prix recently put him at over 30 points ahead of his leading competitor, Sebastian Vettel and also places him in the books as the favorite with 8/15 odds in the Singapore GP. Nothing new, Hamilton is nearly always the odds favorite in his races, but look for the competition to be stiff in this one.

Sebastian Vettel

Sebastian Vettel, quite the opposite of Hamilton, has had long-standing success in formula one racing. He was the points leader in consecutive years from 2010-2013 and has a sterling reputation and track record.

His odds in this one are 6/4, but I’ll take those odds. I expect him to come back strong against his rival, Hamilton, after being defeated in Monza.

Daniel Ricciardo

He’s a longshot to win it with the powerhouse drivers listed above in fierce competition, but with 500/1 odds, it may be worth taking a flier on this driver. Ricciardo is the top driver for the Red Bull Racing team.

Daniel Ricciardo is one of the favorites to win the 2018 Singapore GP.

The Australian, Ricciardo, has finished second place in the Singapore Grand Prix three straight times. He will look for a change of pace in this one.

Kimi Raikkonen

He won the 2007 Formula One World Championship in his first season with Ferrari. This will be his last season with the team as he looks to join Alpha Romeo Sauber next year.

With odds set at 500/1, don’t expect him to keep up with fellow teammate, Vettel or Mercedes frontman, Hamilton in this one, but with the emotions of his last races with Ferrari drawing nearer, nothing is out of the question for him in Singapore.

It should be an interesting race. Best of luck!
